but im converting like 1:1200 on ccbill, maybe its scrubbing, maybe its a bad site..

but the CTR is MUCH higher, like 10%+.

as with nudity its usually only about 2% and under

I think teaser galleries would definitely save on your B/W bill. The "Free Surfer" is only going to be downloading the H/C pics/videos. IMHO.

If that were a program like platinumbucks, they'd have counted about 50 clicks, maybe less.

Teasers convert much better... I have no idea why people post full nudity and explicit hardcore to TGP. As for me it's just stupid. If everyone posted only teasers, all in this biz would make more money... No free explicit porn in the net = better convertions for all of us, despite the fact that teasers convert better thimselves...

Wow, I am at like 0:800 for today (Saturday) for two different galleries, but they're both hardcore. Haven't really tried teasers yet for my newest site, but after reading all the responses here I am going to put together another one with just teasers. I have a listing going up on The Hun soon (1 day to a month ), so maybe that'll do better. Excellent point by charly too, hadn't really thought of that. I've always believed that porn is addictive, not like heroin, and the more you see the more you want.

So if someone gets hooked to looking at porn on free sites would it follow that once hooked many will eventually end up signing to a paysite. Not every one but a fair proportion.

I believe there are people who will never pay for porn, they will go without it. People who can take it or leave it as the mood arrises. Then the guy who will spend hours looking at it and collecting it. You cannot base an industry on the first two types, it's the least one we earn our living from.

He will click on TGP after TGP and like a fish will nibble and move on, then he will see something he cannot resist and click on the link. Depending where he ends up will depend on whether he moves on or takes a big bite. Now you have him hooked.

Free sites would die the moment people stopped clicking on that link and buying something. What Paysite owner would pay out $1,000 for banners and placements on them. Then court the webmaster, spend $1,000 advertising to them, spend even more at shows to entice them, give them free galleries to post up and then offer them huge percentages to basically post to free sites?

Don't fear TGPs they may create more buyers than they steal.

charly, I think you are wrong. Go look at gambling biz. Gambling is very addictive. But gambling biz as whole doesn't make most of it's profits from those who came out of the game in just their panties. Gambling biz makes it's money mostly from ordinary people who just want to relax a bit.

I think the same might be with the porn, but it is already not and it will not be ever because of all free stuff lying all over the net.

Instead of making money from ordinary guys who just want to jerk off a bit once per month we have to make money from porn addicts. Because all the casuals can find pretty big amount of free stuff which is enough for them to satisfy their humble taste. And only addicts and perverts pay for porn.


Addicts and perverts ARE NOT a majority. They are just a small % of all surfers. I don't know exact numbers, but this is just obvious. It's better to make $10 from each of 20% of surfers then to make $100 from each of 0.01% of surfers... TGP convertion ratio is just a joke, if you think about it cold-eyed. All talks about 1:200-1:500, but all mean clicked traffic which is 1/20-1/200 of surfers who viewed the page. Actually this means that in average only 1 of 40000 surfers who viewed the page is willing to buy what's promoted. Imagine if you were selling adult magazines and you had 40000 visitors who took magazine into hands, opened it, some of them closed it right away, some viewed for a moment, some spoiled it with dirty hands, and some jerked off on it right at your store, but only 1 would pay for it, because he's a pervert who want to get it home and watch it through a hand-glass.... This is just a joke... Indeed this comparison is not completelly correct, but I hope it gives some clue...


The true is that mainstream porn almost ceased to be a good that can be sold and become a mean to advertize and sell other goods like pills, toys and other stuff and yet for some degree a niche porn which is obviously not a commodity. But let's wait and see and niche porn also will be spread all over net for free and then the process completes. Porn will not be a good at all, but only measure to sell other goods. May be there is nothing wrong with it, as long as this pays expences to produce it. But I hardly doubt it would.
