If it's a super-center, it's more than mom and pop stores. A super center can have a full-service garage, an optomitrist, a bank, hell i think they're even doing insurance now.

So whats your remedy? Im interested in your point of view in our free enterprise market we have.

Therefore, if such area contains super center, is it safe to say it has a substantial population? Why have a super-center with minimal population.

As far as a $20.00 per hour wage, I don't think anyone would expect that kind of wage at any entry-level position. The point is that Walmart refuses to let an employee work a full 40 hours per week. This move denies employees any rights to benefits and you can forget about overtime pay.
So that community sacrifices 100 jobs from small business and gains 1000 new jobs via walmart, not to mention all the business the community will pickup (contractors, builders etc...)

I don't know anything about the 40 hour work week issue, so I can't really comment on that.

I can only speak for my town of 12, 875 people. They built a regular Walmart about ten years ago and now it's almost impossible for a new business to succeed here. Our town square is nothing but empty spaces. Now they're building a super-center which will pretty much destroy all the other competitive businesses.

My solution? For one, make Walmart employ full-time workers and give them their damned benefits.

That's just the tip of the iceberg. Walmart also does shitty stuff like force suppliers to lower their costs in order to do business with them, then when the supplier is adequately broken, Walmart dumps them.

They're a lovely company. Made in the USA my dead grannies ass.
