what about your country killings thousands around the world? Putting dictators in place, killing hundred of thousands. I mean, South-America has every right to attack the US based on the century of meddling in their domestic affairs.

BTW take out the bad guys, don't take out the whole country.

To my knowlege this has been what Zapatro has always said, even before the bombs in Madrid. A good election promise since 90% of the public was against the war!

Obviously you don't know much about Europe.

Eventually even the lillie pickers and peaceniks will realize this is a war. It will take massive blood in the steets and constant carnage, but eventually all of the western states will come around.
I'm sure they will, because even though they're critical of the US they'll do the exact same shit once the terrorists hit them, especially France. People will be looking for revenge without thinking the strategy through.

But remember that even though we will be standing side-by-side against those terrorists, I blame you and all the other majority who share your beliefs. It pisses me off to be in the same old shit again but hey that's the way it's gonna be. Of course I can always play the useless "I told you so" card but what good will it do? It can happen again and again and again and people will still react the same way to it no matter what I say.

Look, I don't have a problem with killing those terrorist, but then kill them, get some intelligence teams on them, take 'm out with elite troops, confiscate their money, hire the mob for all I care. But invading a country like Iraq is something totally different, especially when the US supports dictators like the one from Equatorial Guinee, because they get their oil from there at a lower price.

BTW a don't hate the US, a plan to go life there one day, it's just that conservative part of the people I have a problem with. The basis of your country is something beautiful, but it gets so raped and keeps getting worse, do you really have to take a look from the outside to realize that the US is on a dangerous path, abolishing civil rights from here to yesterday.
+ being told by a dumb man that we should stay inline or else be considered the enemy, jeezes, how old is he?3?

BTW2 I hate shanting and hippie stuff, they are lazy no goods, I have no problem with feelings of hate, anger, revenge, ... they are feelings, they are nor good nor bad, it just depends what you do with them.

Being human means you put reason between your feelings and your actions. So, don't take me for a flowerchild, anyone invading my country, I'll slid their throats. But as long as that is not the case, try to find another way than violence.

This is why I like most Europeans

You can see both sides of an issue, as can I.

I am in FULL, absolute agreement with you. This country started out as one the greatest places in existence and has since been whored to the lowest bidder. Both the Republicans and especially the Democrats should be eliminated from Washington. The Republicans are more to blame as they have completely gone against their core beliefs. The Democrats are merely perpetuating their stated purpose, big government (Mommie syndrome).

In my opinion when any independant country postures itself to the extent that it becomes perceived as a threat...or in fact actually attacks...then the right exists...whether you or anyone else approves or not.
No problem there. So when did Iraq attack you actually? Heck in the state Iraq was in, I'd have been very surprised if they could've taken over a tiny country like Qatar

You wanna set an example so that dictators don't get any ideas about screwing with the US? You go after the big fish first. You don't go after Saddam and a weak Iraq, and most of all it sends the wrong message to big dictators who see that the US is struggling in Iraq.

I spent 12 years in the Army and have engaged in four operations which includes Desert Shield and Desert Storm...thank you very much. I was taken down in the second day of the land war in Desert Storm which ended my military career.

The United Nations was born from the League of Nations. So my comment about the UN being a relic of the Cold War remains the case. Unless of course you deem the period from 1945 to 1991 not to be the timeframe of the cold war. I believe most would agree that at the conclusion of the Yalta conference, the cold war began.

League of Nations became the UN in 1946, Cold War started in 1945.

no, religion as the prime directive is an enemy of the western world, we also went through this, Europe was run by royalty and the church, we threw them out after 1000 years, the muslim world has to catch up, this is a fact.
If you would lay the bible next to the koran, not talking about the other islam books, you would see that they're are more alike then different, normally if you consider islam is based on christian-judeo religions, Mohammed was a travelling salesman, he got into contact with jews and christians and made his own version of it.

You know what will probably be the best way to convert these people, let them see our freedom, they will crave it, they're craving it in Iran already, the more they indulge in the opportunities and riches the western society has to offer, to smaller the terrorist feeding ground will become. Remember: culture is stronger than military influence to convert people's minds. You did it with Europe, "the american way of living", you can do it again, only in europe's eyes you been fucking up to much on other accounts during the last years.

I mean, mainstream arabs sing american songs, without ever have learned english, they're fans of the movies, love sports, hell they'll probably want to fuck the homecoming queen.

You won't succeed with pressure, especially when you're so bad in manipulation.

Iraq postured itself as a perceived threat and provided the US with the excuse for taking it down. In my opinion we actually took it down because it was weak...provided an excuse...is geographically strategically located...and if our goal is accomplished it will be the beginning of changing the face of the Middle East...as well as putting the US in striking distance of other potential enemies in the Middle East.

What gives you the idea that the US is struggling in Iraq...the media?

All of this posting about Belgium having the "right" to attack the US, and South Africa and blah blah blah .. Sure I guess they do have the RIGHT, but they sure aren't going to. Their goverments don't want a regime change at home.

The United states is the sole super power and has the huge responsibility to police the world now. Doesn't matter if you like it or not, it's the way it is. That's what is keeping pissant little countries like Belgium from being taken over by million man armies like North Korea ... Not any "tactical deffense" of your own.

Everbody has their panties in a knot about the Middle East ... I wouldn't worry about the world speaking Arabic anytime soon .. Y'all might consider learning Chinese though.

As long as the terrorists can influence the US by an act of terrorism. It'll never happen. The terrorists know what they're doing.

Before 9/11 the ME was getting closer and closer to the US, Syria was attempting democratic reforms and there was plenty going on. But thanks to Al-Qaeda and Bush it all changed. Nowadays the ME is a shithole and tensions between arab-muslims and arab-christians are getting pretty high. Terrorism is back in force.

Where in the fuck did you people go to school?

                                      Touche'
League of Nations was formed after WWI, if I remember correctly, it wasn't that strong and was mainly to avoid a new war between France and Germany (Prusia), since they had been fighting for centuries. There was decided that after WWII, there should be a stronger version of the League, so they renamed it and reviewed it's mission and purpose to a certain extend.

+ the cold war, the military build up and rivalery between the US and USSR, only went into speed as of the 50's. I don't think people in 1947 would have percieved it as a cold war yet.

                                      okay convince me otherwise

jeezes, yes, North Korea, they will certainly fire a nuke at you, give president Kim courtside tickets to the Knicks or whatever, a personal meeting with Michael Jordan, a 3 picture deal and he'll hand you the keys to his country.

As you might not have known, besides his dictatorial tendencies, he is a huge NBA, Michael Jordan & movie freak. Sure, he likes being the leader, 50000 people shanting your name will do that to a man. But tempt him with the things he doesn't have! I know this is a total far out idea, but hell, the man I saw in those documentaries had unfulfilled dreams.

What goal is that? Oh, you mean the sugar-coated one that Bush made up?

I'm sorry, but since 9/11 we've become more like them than them like us. It surely ain't the western culture that's taking over. But that doesn't matter much to you.

If you lived in there, you'd realize how shitty it has become, everything that the moderates have worked so hard for have gone to waste.

What gives you the idea that the US is struggling in Iraq...the media?
No, I'm sure Iraq is doing okay being taken over by another country and all. I'm sure soldiers dying every day doesn't mean that the US is struggling, afterall they're just soldiers, why would they matter? That's why my relatives had to run away. It's pretty darn good, especially for Iraqi Christians. Gotta love the death threats.

"The Cold War Confrontation" was considered to be from 1945-1955. By 1947 the Iron Curtain had already fallen and the cold war had most certainly strarted.

I'm Christian Lebanese. I had a blind hate towards muslims for most of my life and I still do hate them a little. Obviously the problems we faced are now coming on a world-wide scale and I see the whole thing happening all over again. People sure react the same to terrorism. It never seems to end. Things should be done differently already, enough with the same old stuff. I want to get rid of terror as much as you do but I don't think that we're gonna do much with the way we're going at it.

I somehow don't think that the western values are just a nice thing to have at that we should throw those values out the window as soon as we're face with adversity. I think that those values are the best weapon. Muslims will understand the need to defeat terror as long as the thing is conducted in a fair and just manner, you know kinda the same way criminals in the west are treated. Enough with the double standards already.

Well then some presidents should've thought better than to go against the will of there population. Why should the new party backdown on a promise they made just because there was a terrorist attack? Why give Al-Qaeda so much importance?

I'm not suggestion the Entire Cold War stopped in 1955 ... But when Stalin died in 1953 the sovient union began the "thaw" inside to some extent .. The real head on confrontation had turned to "peaceful competition". In any case, we weren't talking about the duration of the cold war .. I was simply pointing out that by 1947 it was already on .. It did in fact start just as the UN was formed.

Why would I buy another text book? I haven't been to school in some time now .. And I certainly wouldn't want to study History. Thanks though.
