Does local porn sell better locally?

u have sites with local guys and girls.

u have traffic from the same place.

would that sell more than if it was a site with content from other places?

if possible, dont use japan as an example.

Personally, I don't think so.
Porn is porn, apart from when they are well known porn stars. When someone wants to see porn, I think they are more concernd about niche then if they live in the same area as them..

I strongly believe that a local flavor is perfect marketing for amateur sites. Guys want the perception that a woman is somewhat attainable. It fires off the same neurons as escort or dating traffic where in the surfer's mind that he could actually get to meet that girl one day. It's a strong impulse to buy.

Language wise yeah...porn in dutch does better in Holland on a procentual base then porn in other languages. You will have a hard time selling the porn abroad though aand thus you limit your market.

IMO everytime im at any type of site that has a pic of a girl on it, with a name and location thats near me, im alot more curious. So yell ya, if you could get a BIG local area , like Chicago for example, and keep your advertising to that area, it has the potential to be one of the biggest porn sites in Chicago (assuming everything goes perfectly)

but considering this is the internet, you're alot better off advertising to the whole world (not that you couldnt). for example, say ima middle age guy from detroit, i see a young hot girl who happens to be from chicago, who knows maybe ill sign up.

so basically, IMO , try it. it does have the potential to do well locally, and just a good of chance of doing decent world wide.

Definitly (at least at my place)
If you do local promo you will get a LOT of local guys . Print flyers, work some deals with strip clubs, place journal announcement . After a while you will get media attention in your own . It can be good or bad . If you got your shit straight and all the papers about everything there is no problem .

There was a guy posting videos of the medias talking about his site once . Very bad things said about it but I think in the next couple hours he had TONS of signups ...

im definately hitting the local free newspaper, buying spots on local sites, search engine as well.

good thing u mentioned deal with strip clubs, i think im gonna do that too.

u know about any flyer laws in montreal? it might be illegal if i was advertising sex..
