He has genuine heart and compassion. He understands human nature as most excellent comedians do. His movies move.
Pacino and DeNiro come next, but they have worn their (albiet exceptionally talented) character sets pretty thin. It's getting tougher to watch their new movies without feeling it's a rerun.
