    united states vs extreme associates

    for you intellectuals.

my money is that the US DOJ will fail to convict, due to privacy issues:

(and i personally think extreme associates puts out total shit content---but the central issue is going to be privacy---and it's ramifications for adult webmasters selling adult material to consenting adults)

and IF the government loses the case against extreme associates what do they do next?

Much as I agree that the content they sell is harmful to the industry, the principles in the case are critical to all of us. Let's hope they win.

I find what they put out is disgusting but many Hollywood movies have violent rape scenes which they justify by having someone become a vigilante and kill the rapists. Is anything EA puts out any less violent than the Passion? I'm asking because I've seen neither.

I saw Hannibal where the guy cuts off the top of the skull of his victim while he's still alive and cuts out part of his brain and makes him eat it. Why doesn't Bush go after that crap.

this is a big case for the adult industry as a whole. Not because everyone puts out this type of material - most do not, but because if extreme wins it is a big blow to the government. extreme's main defense is that the comunity standard of indecency should not be applied here because the material in question is viewed in a private home thus the community is not involved. It is different if they went to a brick and mortar store and bought this because the store exists in the community. If they lose, it could allow the government to go after any website because it would set the standard that sitting in your bedroom surfing a porn site is still beholden to the community standard. If the gov. loses it will pretty hard for them to sucessfully go after websites.

Like most, I think the content they put out is sick and harmful to the adult industries image as a whole, but I hope they win.

I don't think the dudes at EA are actually raping and killing the girl in thier movies either. And that scene in Hannibal look pretty real.

not at all. if that were tha case sites woulda been shut down years ago.

the person surfing is breaking their community standards/laws by accessing material thasts deemed illegal in that community. not the site itself

extreme sold actual tapes also and thats a large part of it.
