It's been bugging me for a long time... doesn't seem like anyone talks about what they read in AVN Online, Klixxx or the others. Is anyone actually reading these things, or are you reliant on message boards/newsletters/spam for your industry news?

i sometimes read the french version of AVN online but they are usually 4 months late in their news , they suck and speak only about futile stuff .
wanted to subscribe to klixxx but their price for international is an insult to intelligence .
its like 30$ for US and 125 for inter WTF? bunch of greedy assholes!

Ok, so let's get some of this straight. I write for both of those publications, and don't care for the misconceptions.
If you don't read anything that can help you make more money, then you are just, very simply, a poor business person. Right/wrong/whatever, if you don't read, you simply don't know.
It's like the lottery, if you don't play, you can't win. (Bad analogy, I don't play the lottery-odds are too bad, but NOT with information like AVN Online or Klixxx)
And if you think there isn't any good info in them, You are wrong. There IS good info, I know I've researched and written it. And I've been making my living in the adult biz for 19 years now.
International postage is just that. The cost of postage to get it to you. The concept of a trade journal is that it is free to industry, and if you ask correctly, BOTH of these publications ARE free. International has a massive postage expense, that's why there is a fee. I'll bet if you wrote to the editor for a solution, you could get one.
I have another idea, why don't you get an adult trade journal in your own country? What? There are none? Sucks to be Non-American, doesn't it?
You lose because you aren't an American. we'd lie to feel bad for you, but the simple fact is, the world is a cruel place. the strong survive and the weak do not. Don't blame the mags or me, it was like that when I got here.Comment
