Could be colic..... my first one went thru this for 14 months, and it SUCKS on the baby and on you. it's a belly ache and your Dr should have some medicine you can give him to settle it down some. Is he pulling his legs up close to him when he is crying? This is what Jessie used to do and she'd wiggle around like crazy..... they have Mylicon drops here over the counter, but not sure if they have them up there. Make sure and burp him REALLY good, that helps a lot. If he isn't acting like he wants to, keep patting his back til he does burp. That helps take some of it off him.

I read that colic link and it sounds like it. Both Lissa and i are at wits end and she's pretty upset. We'll touhg it out til morning until her aunt comes to help i guess. We'll try that burping thing to see if it helps. thanks.Comment

Gripe water CAN work well. It's harmless to the child if it doesn't. Any local drugstore or supermart will have it. It might help you tonight. It's mentioned at the bottom of the link I gave you.Originally posted by iwantchixx

it would be safe to say there are alot of parents here and most of them probably spend more time with there kids then the people that would reply if you posted this on a board specifically for this subject.
Culd be Colic, the Gripe water suggestion is an effective one in some cases. The baby could have an ear ache or a gas pocket. Try some Mylacon (I think thats how you spell it) its for gas in infants and is very good. I didnt read anywhere where you said how old the baby was. Depending on the age it could be a number of things.CLICK HERE FOR SOME EXTREME PAYCHECKS 178.247.277Comment

Ok... here we go... I saw this on one of those baby shows right before I had my son... my first child. It sounded crazy, but it has worked for both my children and my friend's children.
Hold him/her close to your heart but close to your face, too. Make sure he/she is pressed tightly to you and go "Shhhhhhhhhh" in long breaths. It replicates the sound of the mother's womb. Do this long enough, and he/she will calm down.
I didn't see an age posted anywhere. It helps if the baby is really little.
Anyway, give it a try, and let me know how it works for you!

they say that you should wrap the kid in a blanket like they do when they are first born, then you should shush them (kind of a shhhhhhhhhh sound, which mimmics the uterus sound). Can't remember what else. It is called the 5 "S". Do a google, you will find it.
Also, take a ticking clock, wrap it in a towel and put next to the baby's head. It mimmics the sound of mom's heart. It helps.

sounds like colic to me. Lots of infants get it. It eventually goes away.

The pediatrician told us that "Colic" is just a name to give mothers so they have a "reason" that their kids cry a lot. He didn't diagnose our kids with Colic because he doesn't believe it's a "disease" or whatever. Anyway, the shhhhhhh thing has worked for every child I've taken care of.
All kids suffer from gas sometimes, so you might try pumping his legs... lay him on his back, and lift his knees to his chest. Also, you might get a book on infant massage. All of those things help to relax a baby. And take turns with your wife. Babies sense tension, and when she's had enough, a fresh face can be... refreshing.
Hope everything gets easier. Congrats on the baby!

That doctor is completly correct. Colic is just an "old wives tale" for why babies cry. Like that tv ad for huggies that says holding your baby will spoil them and you should always over dress a baby.Originally posted by BitterPen

One of my kids cried continuously until I bought a swing that had a replaceable chair. You could replace it with a sideways cradle. She spent a good portion of her baby life in that thing. When ever she wasnt in it she was crying. GET A SWING.Trade traffic with Totally4free TGP HERE

Probably her formula. She may be allergic to what's in it.
Any reason the Mrs. isn't breastfeeding?
Only thing that worked for me with my cranky daughter was a baby swing. There was something about it, no matter how hard she tried to fight it.. it always put her to sleep. I hear those vibrating chairs are good too. They didn't have them back then, and I never needed anything like that for my son so I have no personal experience with them.Need a reliable, reasonably priced php programmer? the baby needs a change of environment. i raised my little sis, trust me on this. one of my boys is having the same issues with his youngster at this exact time. walk the baby around and point to stuff. distraction is your best friend. if you just talk to the kid and walk and point long enough to distract him/her from crying, it will work. 15 minutes later, that kids asleep.Originally posted by iwantchixx

The best thing about working from home is getting to spend more time with your kids as they grow up

took the little guy for a drive, within 3 minutes he was asleep. got home 20 mins later and to bed, and 30 mins later .. started fussing and crying again. Might have to go to outpatience and see what's up just to make sureComment

He likes the car. Go for another drive. When he falls asleep, pull up in your driveway, turn the car off, lower the driver seat and go to sleep yourself.Originally posted by iwantchixx

hehe . . .there was a point in my daughter's life that it seemed a car ride was the only way to get her to go to sleep.Originally posted by iwantchixx

They have these colicy pills, all natural and they dissolve fast under the babies tongue so you can use them at any age.
They also have teething pills by the same company and work great. I never used the colic ones but the teething ones have made my babies night alot better when she is in pain.Comment

could be colic. try taking him for a ride in the car down a bumpy or gravel road if you know any. It worked with my little sister (10 years my junior). Sounds strange but it works.Comment
