Why do some paysites use plug-ins?

I have been in the members areas of hundreds of paysites, and a lot of the big companies members area are mostly plug-ins. You see the same ones at multiple sites, and they usually load slow and the movies are crap for the most part.

What's the point of putting these in your members area when you can grab a few content blowouts and build a members area with 200-300 gigs of content that would beat the hell out of any feed and cost you a lot less in the long run?

But those sites doesnt sell as good as they were before, there is a big change in sites members area coming.

They are forced to change to be able to compete with the new standards the surfers almost demand

Who said anything about static pics? Amacontent was blowing out 500 high quality hardcore videos the other day for the cost of about 1 year of feeds for one paysite. You could build 20 paysites with that content.

I did not see what Joe was offering, but perhaps because it is easier to make smaller monthly payments, than one large payment?

i use plugins in addition to our own content just to give the members some variety and it also takes a little load off the servers...i only use good plugins though..thre is alot of crap out there

I suppose if you saved more in bandwidth than what you paid for the feeds, it might be worth it.

We use a couple of Movies Plugins at our sites, Why ? Because Adult DVD's are exspensive to buy and members love them cuz of the highquality.

again, some people can not afford a $6,000 purchase as easy as they can afford a $600/month expenditure. Same thing as why people rent homes instead of just buying them.

Besides, it really isn't throwing your money away, it is tax deductible.

Bandwidth is so cheap, who gives a fuck? And as for building the members area, first of all, I want all movies branded with my url for the free advertising. You can hire 3rd world lackeys for 10 cents an hour to do this.

In some blowouts you have like 40-50 hours of video ... enough to retain any member for a while :P

Any of them pretty much. Most licenses allow for you to watermark the pictures and video with the url of your site as long as you don't try to claim copyright.

This way when members download this stuff, they remember where they got it.

ContentShopper does not sell anything. It is a searchable database of content providers. Our providers sell feeds, movies, static pics, DVD's, stories.

You name it, they provide it.

my bread and butter includes providers that sell movies, and sell plugins . . . so it does not really benefit me to take one position or the other. There is a need for both, just like there are dedicated servers, virtual servers, shared servers. Just like there are gallery templates, and high end designers. Just like people lease cars as opposed to buying them.

It all depends on what one can afford.

We've pretty much gotten rid of all leased feeds (never had that many to begin with) and our retetnion numbers really aren't noticeably different...

we've tried to keep high quality downloadable mpegs and pics and most of our members are happy with that...what members tend to hate is being told the site is a certain niche and only precious little of the content of that niche and the rest being nothing more than plugins...

reak, I agree, focusadult fucking rocks! we are proud to have their content in our members areas. It's not always the number of pics and videos you have as much as the quality (at least from the feedback we've seen and we do our own inhouse customer service, so have a pretty good idea what makes members happy and what doesn't)

My personal issue with plugins tend to be the lack of updates. I've seen some feed packages that are carrying the same exact content they were over a year ago with no additions that I could spot.
