Those are probabilities that may happen. It's like saying that porn promotes child abuse. It absolutely does. But on dating sites, people meet their matches online and as far as I've known, most people are happy with it. Otherwise, this industry in general wouldn't grow as fast as it has.
Finding a rapist? Even in a bar, a supermarket... that's not an adult dating exclusivity.
