                                                I'm not trying to imply that I believe Al-Qaeda had anything to do with the bombings.. I'm not about to defend them or accuse them since I don't have any grounds to do either.

                                                .. and I definitely do not defend ETA either, who is a known terrorist organization.

                                                However.. the bombings in Madrid do not reflect the history of ETA. In it's entire 30 year operation, ETA has killed 800 people total. They have usually been very specific political targets. They have never done something all out and against civilians specifically.

                                                Also, ETA is a relatively small organization. They maybe have 30 cells in the whole country.. each consiting of up to 4 people. Not to mention that very recently there have been major break-throughs in the destruction of ETA via the arrest of several key orginizational leaders.. Most experts are claiming that ETA most likely did not have the resources to pull off this sting.

                                                Finally, members speaking for ETA came out publically and denounced the bombings denying any part in it .. which is again out of character for ETA.. they are usually very quick to accept all credit for their killings .. they are a militia fighting for control .. they want Spain to know their precense.

                                                                                    Just as soon as Canadians start flying planes in to buildings .. I'll be the first one to step up for extra screenings and like it too.

                                                                                    What do you think would HONESTLY make air travel safer? Searching 5% of all passengers all the time .. Or searching 100% of all muslim passengers all the time, and random checking everyone else. You may not like it, but fact of the matter is .. one of those methods will lead to less hijackings.
