i use this card in a raid 10 config it runs damn fast but there is a differnt from doing some research that if you loose so many drives you speed drops to shit and it damn near crawls when you drop in a new drive to rebuild the raid dont know if it's true or not but i hear thats what the big difference is between sata and scsi the speed when drive die and the rebuild speed.Comment

My current computer has an Asus A7N8X mainboard, 2.083GHz Athlon, 512MB DDR400, CDROM & Zip250 EIDEs (2ndary chan), 80gig & 250gig EIDEs (Prim chan), and a 120gig SATA (the board supports 2 channes of SATA).. the SATA is noticeably faster in file retrieval, write time and application speed, although I haven't done any benchmark testing.
All HDDs are Western Digital.Xanadu024 (aim) or 286785389 (icq)

We have a been testing some. One is averaging around 40 mbps and one is averaging around 70 mbps for the past 2 months and taking it like a champ. Both running a Raid1 configuration.Comment

Actually SATA is faster but it limited on amount of drives you can use. fx, 2x10000rpm SATA is faster than 2x10000rmp SCSI.
So, if you're going to use just 2 drives for raid, your best bet would be the SATA, but if you can afford 4 drives or more go with the SCSI and that will be faster of course.Comment
