Content Providers Authenticity Question.

I'm concerned about whether or not the content I plan on buying is ligitimate.

How do I know, that the license and content I'm being sold is real?
How do I know that the seller has the authority to sell the content?
If I buy the content, how can I be assured that the rightful owner will not sue me for infringing his copyright?

I don't know about others but, I provide model relases/IDs of the product I'm selling..I have the right to sell my non-exclusives, since I perform in them and I have a contract that I sign and send to you so you can sell the content on your site..Just get those few items from people and all bases are covered.

1. non-exclusives may or may not need copies of the model releases
2. make sure the man you buy from owns the content
3. contract or agreement for the scenes

OK Simon, I haven't set up my site yet, but I'm working on it.

I'll need a link to download one of your products; e-mail me at [email protected]. The sample product must not have sample or any watermarks on it. Remember, I'm after the license in addition to the product. If I like it, I'll offer you a maximum of $100 per scene. I'll buy on a scene per scene basis. I don't know what I'm getting if I buy in bulk. At this time, I'm too ignorant/inexperienced to be buying in bulk. If I don't feel I got cheated, AND I get my site running, I'll be a repeat customer because I need content.

What I require is a minimum size of 480 x 360 to a maximum of 656 x 480. It needs to be in a non-DivX avi or wmv format. I don't want DivX's or any other logo to appear where I may insert my logo. I want the license to exhibit the product at any website I chose. Furthermore, I want the license to distribute the product via physical DVD format. I'll need to read and approve the license agreement before I purchase anything.

Sorry, but all that for $100 per scene..on a scene per scene basis...No offense but that's not that good. I brought in $20k in march without hassle. I have my own in house DVd duplication and distribution, so I'm not selling my scenes to someone else for that... You can have the scenes for the web only and I'll send you a scene on miniDV so you can encode at any size or rate you choose

If you're bringing in a lot of money, why are you worried about competition? Why don't you spread the wealth a little? Help our economy grow. I didn't know about your "little" operation until you disclosed it.

In other news... What software do you use to encode? I can transfer MiniDV onto my computer into an uncompressed avi format, but if I try to encode to a DivX or any other format, it looks like crap.

I have my production done at the same place as VIVID and Wicked among others..it's actually cheaper than you would think. It just doesn't make sense for me to sell my scenes on DVD and you sell them too..unless I pull scenes out that I will not use and sell them outright to you..I can do that if you like but, $100 per scene isn't the right price..Just a thought..I'm open to suggestions

$150 is my maximum offer, assuming all conditions, LISTED AND UNLISTED, are met.
The dimensions of the video have to be approximately 640 x 480.
AVI format, XviD codec, approx 220 kps in data rate.

I want the right to sell through any URL I want and by any means I want, including selling by DVD. I live in Chicago, you're on the left coast, what are you concerned about?

I know you buy some of your videos and sell them through these package deals. You're a broker/dealer in addition to being a producer. The authenticity of your purchased videos are what concerns me more than the authenticity of your claims, "produced" videos, and sold licenses. (I have a Bachelors in accounting, for which I went through an auditing class. Don't worry, I won't be that IRS agent that audits your books.)

I want to take this process one step at a time. I want to "feel" you - figuratively-speaking; I'm not gay. If I see success in my venture, I will be a regular customer. Eventually, my partner and I (I took on a partner), will want to take on film production and its sales of licenses. I will be competing with you. Either we work together buying and selling each other's films and licenses, or we can compete AGAINST each other. Right now, I want starting off as your customer - if you'll allow me.
