Go to any drapery store. They sell drapes with a special sunblock lining to suit any decor. The drapes keep the sun out in the summer and the cold in the winter.

Try using a heavy curtain or draperies. If you don't like sunshine that much, use dark colors. If doesn't work out then i guess the tin foil would have to do.
