I use ICQ mainly because I've had it for so long and my contact list is HUGE
but I still use yahoo and AIM as well and sometimes I even pop onto MSN (mainly because I have some family members who use it)

because webmasters tend to be older internet users and ICQ was the first decent one. MSN is for kids having chat sex with all the kissy icons.

sometimes notifications and messages don't show up until i click on the client a few times to "wake it up" ...

of course, it has critical mass, the people you're trying to communicate with, but things like AIM or even Y or MSN seem to function better and AIM is a lot more lightweight.

just a question i've always wondered. i tell people that the porn webmasters online all use ICQ and they look at me like
            1st : I don't wanna move my 650 contacts to another program
2 : No other program can handle that many people
3 : It was there first with aim and a lot of people still use it anyways

ICQ don't log automaticly anymore ... AND any other chat program (msn irc etc) have a log feature too

Same with PCs/Windows. We like to bitch about it but it's a standard.
I don't like the interface of trillian . I got MSN ICQ AIM and IRC connected most of the time anyways . I guess I should try and get used to the interface but I'm too lazy for now

I get the same reaction from people when I say that webmasters use ICQ over everything else. It does fuck up everyonce in a while for me but all in all, its cpu friendly, infrequent spaming, easy to install and easy to use. I love it.
