i was thinking of trying Britesmile" of ZOOM whiteing while you sit for an hour or two at the dentist and they use a special light & gel technique to brightend them up. has anybody tried anything similar to this besides bleaching? i know brad shaw had all kind s$% done to his face....

what did you try? my dentist is real up fron if thinks a certain procedure would work or not. hopefully the things you had done were different but....
my teeth aren't the kind that need venners i would just like them whitend up a couple shades from tons of coffee drinking.Comment

I read an article the other day about this topic.
It was saying that consumers should not use the over the coutner type of whitening. They have proof that it aid's in the formation of mouth cancer. It's the hydrogen peroxide they think, because the over the counter remedies have very high levels of it. When they gathered statistics about it, they found that 8-10 patients they had asked, tried the over the counter whitener's.
They did say that anything a dentist would use has very low levels of hydrogen peroxide, and are much much safer. As well as the mouth peice that they will mold for you holds in all the chemicals and reduces the leakage.
My friend uses a kit she bought from a dentist and it works AMAZING, it is the kind with the mouth peice. cost her 475$ CDN. Well worth it, she has BRIGHT white teeth from it.

Teeth whitening is one of those things that you "get what you pay for."
You can waste your money on all the knockoffs, but your best bet is to goto your dentist and have him make you the proper bleaching trays. Nothing works better, let alone comes close. Sure, you pay for it, but it lasts 2-3 years, and you won't have wasted your time and money.Comment

if you check the ingredients of the dentists method and the over the counter methods...same ingredient 80%of the time

Had my teeth done professionally many years ago. I would only recommend going to the dentist and getting it done. The stuff over the counter is just a waste of time and money.

Brightsmile works great but make sure to get a consultation first before you fork out the dough. Also, I've heard that people who have tetracycline stained teeth shouldn't even waste their money...nothing will work except cosmetic dentistry (veneers).No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.Comment

I had laser whitening last year, I don't smoke or drink coffee or much cola, and it only lasted about 4 months. Maybe it's just my teeth... maybe it does not work well long term?Comment

i use nite white excel 3, the deluxe kit. cost a lot, but works great. you get custom teeth molds made, and put this gel stuff in it, wear it for 2 hours a day for a week, or until your teeth are at the whiteness you want. then about once a month just wear the molds with gel for 2 days, 2 hrs a day to touch up the whiteness.
works less well if you drink soda/coffee or if you smoke.Comment
