Yamaha still makes those little bikes and in 25 years the haven't really changed much.

Barstool racer fo sure!!
When we used to dragrace at Firebird track in Phoenix, we visited a lil bar on thursday nights that had barstool races.. but these were electric... they set up pylons around the bar and did 5 lap races....
...funniest damn thing you even seen...
I will have to ask my brother the name of the place.. I know it was up by one of the colleges... maybe a GFYr from phoenix area knows the place and will post its name...
