    Where do you see the industry one year from now?

    I believe it will continue to grow and some new interesting strategies will come into play.

    I think the SEO game will continue to get trickier.

    I believe some of the "smaller guys" will show they have learned more then some people think.

    I believe there will be an entire new way to go about galleries. I think people really are getting that dialed in now and that programs will offer new unique ways to profit from them something along the lines of the new Lightspeed idea.

    This is just a start, post your ideas and feelings and I will follow up with more of mine later.

                          content will definatley become the focus. i think sites with real personality will continue to gain momentu, where the large generic sites will slow down a bit, there are just too many of them. I also think that there will be some big innovation in tgp within the next 18 months, i dont know what it will be, but it seems the market is getting overcrowded and something will have to be done to set the sites apart.

                              I think it will become more vital for companies to put out sites which give the surfer good honest value for their purchase. That should seem like a no-brainer, but I think the marketplace used to be more tolerant of mom and pop sites with like six photo sets and corporate sites with off-topic shovelware.

                                      Some of us are too new to be passing on our opinions. I try to sit back and read the good threads to see where I may go in the future. That is why I read this one. I have heard good things about you grimshawn and I hope to glean more good info by coming back to this and other posts.

                                              I am daily trying to learn html and how to build a gallery page. The designing part so far has me stumped. I am trying to learn Dreamweaver at the same time so I can see what I am doing wrong in a realworld situation. Anyway, just starting out so I won't be giving any advice for some time to come.

                                                                              I agree with all of your foresights.

                                                                              I would also add that I think people will have to start to conduct business in a more mature and ethical way otherwise if they plan to continue to profit for the very long term, that won't happen.

                                                                                  Changes that should continue:

                                                                                  AVS slowly dieing.

                                                                                  ARS 's big change is not that great a sign. If they were struggling then what other big names are in the red and just gutting it out?

                                                                                  TGP Big guys will throw huge parties to celebrate being at the right place at the right time. Small guys will keep the day job.
                                                                                  Notice how the top twenty is not that static? Seroiusly there is still room for people to compete.

                                                                                  SEO fucking ouch if Yahoo keeps zigzagging all over the place.

                                                                                  Prediction: New big thing. I have no idea what it is but the market is poised for the next "bang bus". COHF if they do a better tour? XXX Proposal has legs but do they have a wide enough audience? Something will break out.

                                                                                                      Hosted Galleries will be forced to be better or the tgp's will have to take regular submissions again because of the bookmarkers wanting more quality and variety.

                                                                                                      Reality sites will continue to spruce up, but i think you will see a more in depth look at the girl etc.

                                                                                                      Search engines will get trickier, but there will be always ways to exploit them.

                                                                                                      More paysites will get nailed by the chargeback rules and the horrifc members areas that some of the people here have will be forced to change their ways or shut down.

                                                                                                          Both spam and the availability of "free porn" will come under greater scrutiny and pressure. The industry needs to clean up it's act or the government will do it, eventually.

                                                                                                          Before long, spam will be better controlled and the days of viewing porn without a cc will be gone.

                                                                                                                                      However, this abundance of free porn wont necessarily be stopped by Government pressure. I am pretty sure the paysites themselves will wake up and realise that they will have to sort it out to remain in business. Competition is fierce amongst pay sites themselves, let alone the gallery builders etc.. and with all of the the "FREE PORN" out there, even harder to get the sign up.

                                                                                                                                      *DRM will be more prevalent, and therefore a system will have to be devised to work with MGP's. This also assists in the reduction of Free Movie content out there. (meaning more sign ups)

                                                                                                                                      *More consolidation of the Industry. Ie Strong Partnerships between large players in different fields. Ie Live Feed and Movie Content sites joining forces, and sharing revenue.

                                                                                                                                      *Reduction in the number of Affiliates in Partner Programs. The amount of money it costs having an Affiliate Program is incredible. We have seen via Quiet's model, where he doesn't use Affiliates as such, but buys ad spots on the most trafficed sites, that alot of money can be made. Therefore feel that the webmasters who submit galleries in the numbers they do now, will, I'm sorry to say, be a thing of the past !!!

                                                                                                                                      *Its already been said, but the TGP/MGP submissions will go to partners, but guess who those partners will be? More than likely the Paysite owners themselves.

                                                                                                                                      I can see the major players slowly squeezing out the unnecessaries and keeping the core solid and consolidated.

                                                                                                                                      The Industry as it stands has become weak and bloated. I am sure there will be some "Trimming of the fat" in the next year or so.

                                                                                                                                      Makes business sense to me, even if it will mean thousands of webmasters losing out. Hate to paint such a picture, but feel it is inevitable
