    Bertuzzi broke Moore's neck!!

    Neck fracture.... dont know how serious it is...

    What a fucking maniac is that Bertuzzi... hope he's not suspended for the playoff so he can meet Worrell face to face...

              Well it was a sucker punch which happens all the time in the game. Wrong sure but not that fucked up.

              It was just unfortunate that the punch knocked Moore out and then caused them both to fall to the ice.

              Dont forget the Avs players also jumped onto the pile and that didnt help either.

              Hopefully the fractured vertabre isnt to serious.

There is no room for sucker punches...and he should be charged to show the public that assault isn't tolerated anywhere anytime, but fighting in a game is an acceptable by-product of the kind of game hockey is and many say there would be more stcik work and cheap shots if they couldn't drop the gloves and get it over with.

But if you look Bert didnt keep punching and just had his arms on the ice to proect his fall and then the people jumping on his back.

                                                                                                              whatever. Bertuzzi is a thug, always has been. He should be thrown out the NHL. This is the kind of action that shows players have lost respect for each other. If you let this kind of shit go by handing out inconsequential suspensions it reduces that respect factor even further, because the guys come back even more pissed off than before, plus they are then marked targets by all the leagues enforcers, and the cycle gets more destructive.


                                                                                                              The only way to solve it is to throw out players and set examples, so that the players understand there is no room in the game for that, and then they'll start to show a little respect, because they won't have any choice.

                                                                                                              Given that most professional sports athletes, these days, get paid such exorbitant salaries most of them consider themsleves above the realms of everyday accountability, which is a recipe for disaster. Just look at the NBA as a worst case scenario, and you'll see where the NHL will be in 5 years if radical changes are not made to change player attitudes.

                                                                                                                      Charged but got off on trial I believe. No jail time if he was found guilty but I think he was not. He's never played in the NHL again.

Bertuzzi did not drive moores head into the ice with a body slam, he didnt jump on him and pummel him while down... his swing took him off his feet and he went down with moore - who was unconscious from the punch.

                                                                                                                                                          If you watch the replay, it was bertuzzi trying to get the pile off moore...

                                                                                                                                                          I cant see bertuzzi trying to injure someone, I thought he was just making his point - dont fuck with our captain.

                                                                                                                                                          Now, as for chargin him with assault... thats a really tough call. I dont think he should be charged with assault, its not like hockey doesnt have its fair share of fights. Mcsorley was charged because he used his stick in an attempt to injure another player - thats not a fistfight that every player expects and accepts when they put on their skates...

                                                                                                                                                                              wade brookbank is supposedly the canuck's enforcer, but last week in denver he squared off with peter worrell and worrell had to outweigh him by 50+ pounds. if he hadn't lost his balance and pulled worrell down with him he would have gotten killed for sure.

                                                                                                                                                                              you can like fighting in hockey, or you can hate it, but the truth is the instigator rule is allowing marginal players to take cheap shots at the stars knowing that no one will respond. nobody has ever bought a ticket so they can watch steve moore. people buy tickets to see the stars play, and when they aren't protected all kinds of stupid stuff happens.

His intent was to give him a good wack for what he did to Naslund and then probably fight Moore I'm guessing. But heat of the moment and the fact Moore had ZERO idea that Bertuzzi was about to become an idiot and sucker punch him led to Moore's head hittingthe ice with a 250lb guy on his back.

                                                                                                                                                                                              Burtuzzi and I played on the same team for 14 years and he has always done dumb shit like this, but not this bad. People used to have signs out in New Liskard, Kirkland Lake and Kapiskasing when we rolled in that contained all kinds of hate messages towards him. He has always managed to get bad penalties at bad times that cost the team. This will hurt Vancouvers run for the cup. I'm not sure why anyone is surprised.

                                                                                                                                                                                              But in the end he is a super power forward and loved by the league so he might squeeze by this one and he has some relatives that were in management with the N, so who knows, he'll probably walk out the other side clean.

The NHL cause this with the fucking ridiculous instigator rule. If that rule wasn't there The Vancouver team could have punched Moore right then and there and that would have been the end of it.
