Check out the Fuji Finepix S7000

Priced at $700 but can be had for $500

We got ours at Ritz, don't know the best place on the net for it.

Are you looking for a compact or SLR type ?? If you're looking for a compact camera, I HIGHLY recommend the Sony CyberShot DSC-WI, it's a beautiful camera that takes some pretty good pics

Here's a review of it which covers most of it's functions. If you click on the "Digital Camera Ratings", you can see a list of their ranks. It's a great site because they rank pretty much every aspect of each camera. Anyways, here's a review of what I got and recommend -

As Sarettah mentioned, the Fuji Finepix is a nice highly rated camera also (according to DigitalCameraInfo.com). Here's their review -

As far as where to buy the camera. I've learned that when it comes to cameras and camcorders, it's best to just use price search engines like http://www.pricegrabber.com to find your results. I know that I'm looking at buying a new camcorder and the prices on Ebay are a bit higher than what I'm finding through Price Grabber.

I enjoy my minolta dimage A1 quite often. and you can get one for under $600.00

Nice controls, 5MP, and excellent pic quality.
