    How to promote a website ?

    Sorry i've seem to have posted this in "Fucking around & program diskussion" too.

    This is the right forum....here goes again:

    Lets say i have found the perfect available domain and the unimaginable niche that nobody ever thought about before.
    How would you submit this to the search engines to get on top ?

    Also i need a designer for glossy webpage and a programmer/webmaster, who can set up my page in different languages (i want to translate the txt myself) and help me coordinate the design into a webpage with my choice of payment solution.

    I shoot my own content at the moment, and would like to make a site for this special content when i have enough films.

    The question is ...how do you get on top of things...search engine wise.

          The domain is not registered yey and the niche is kinda secret for nowil

              If the niche isn't too heavily SE spammed it shouldn't be hard. Just put some good descriptive text links on any other indexed pages you have. Optimize the site to make the most of the PR and it should be gravy.

                      Well people basically cheating the search engines to put their own fake pages on top. If you're trying to get a "teen sex" listing there's already a billion other pages targetted to those keywords, many using deceptive methods to get on top. If not many people are competing to your niche, a quality site with some good links and good targetted text will get itself on top.

                          Well i'm not gonna fake and cheat with the submitting, and as far as i know it's better to stick with the theme, specially if it's a special niche. So i quess the only way is to come up with some keywords that's honest to the site and sit it out...and that's it ?

                              You are absolutely right in keeping with the theme, use that as a base for the pages you optimise for the engines.

                              Rather than relying on submitting your site to the engines, hardlink to it from a site you know is already being indexed and thats all you should need to do.
