I know the server admin there very well and I don't think this is true. I think it's a way to draw attention them themselves or bring something new in like a new design etc.. And everyone is playing right into it LOL would be horrible if that is the case.

I have fantasic admins and I've had my box rooted before.
(If I had any other kinda boxes I'd want them rooted all the time :-)

No admin can stay on top of everything all the time.
If you know their admin so well then ring them and findout what they know.

I know if I wanted some PR the first thing I'd do is delete every
single file from my server. I'd remove my sponsors banners who
pre-pay. I'd remove all incoming links from syndicated sites. I'd
make sure SE spiders see 404 instead of the thousands of pages
I've got listed. I'd take down everything. That's the best way to
get PR. The only way.
