    Kudos to the Amex Centurion (Black) Card!!!

    ...they just booked two rooms for me at the Mandalay Bay arriving on the 3rd and departing on the 7th. Not bad for a hotel that was fully booked!

          Odd, I went to http://www.mandalaybay.com/home.jsp and I see plenty of rooms available there.

                                          Last I checked both hotels (Mandalay and TheHotel) were sold out at the group rate but still had rooms at the regular rate (around double the price). We booked our rooms at TheHotel last week with no problems.

                                          Luxor still has a lot of rooms and it is much cheaper and has an indoor connection to MB. If you are on a budget call the Luxor first.
