    Some of you give surfers too much credit.....

    "They want exclusive content"
    "They won't signup to a site with a crappy looking design"
    "It's my job to get them to the site, it's the programs job to convert them"

    Obviously a lot of people that push porn haven't done sales before. It's YOUR job to talk the customer into signing up. It's not rocket science and it's really not hard. I sell from pages 99% of you would laugh at.

    And on top of all that, 1 out of X visitors should sign up regardless if you had any kind of skill in sales. If you're gonna play the numbers you should at least understand them first.

                                              On the credit given to surfers - they are on a page for 2 seconds (generally!) - they need to be delivered something that will grab em - else they are gone.

                                              There is little "credit" you can give to a surfer, - they are just like the "public at large" - not too bright as a group and with widely diverse interests, ya could never keep up :-) (Hence, "niching" and "sub-niching").

                                              But yea... the final "product" has got to be as good as possible!

                                                      My opinion is:

                                                      1.Text is king.
                                                      2. Regular horizontal banners suck for the most part. Odd shaped ones work better.
                                                      3. Tour designs are not as important as people say they are. Cookie cutter layouts still sell. It's you the webmater that need to sell and prequalify the surfer before sending them off.
                                                      4. A paysite is only as good as it's processor. Shitty processing = shitty conversions. Sponsors with cascade billing out perform sponsors with a single processor.
