I have said it many times on gfy, that just because there is a demand for something doesn't mean that it is okay to supply it.

Shaving is cheating period. I'm not going to throw stones, they are many many ways a sponser can cheat. But at the same time I don't think it's wise to have a shave feature built into anything you using to track affiliate sales.

That wasn't a very wise business decision. Trust IS the most important when dealing with affiliate programs. In the seven years we have been in business we have seen several clients go down in flames for either non ethical practices. Most we shut down ourselves when their affiliates complained of nonpayment. We bring in both parties and see if the problem can be solved and 8 times out of 10 I would say it is. The other 2 are not bright enough to realize that they would do far better just by being honest with the affiliates.

Don't get me wrong, it is not always the sponsor that is at fault. Sometimes they are some bad affiliates, yes some affiliates cheat just like sponsors try to cheat. In either case we get to the root of the problem and have it fixed.

As far as other choices, we have a couple. We have one that is in beta now with some large mainstream companies using it. I'm not going to post a demo to it here in this thread for the shear fact I don't think it is wise to beat a dead horse. It is really unforunate for MPA2 to have built this feature.

As you know, we use the MPA2 program, within the next week or so, we will be migrating to a new program.

All individual MPA2 links codes will be automatically redirected utilizing Apache's mod_rewrite function, therefore, you will not need to change any link codes or

All current webmaster data will be imported into the new program, including all rebills.

I've looked at both Monolith and MPA2 and I think Monolith is a much better program. That's just my opinion, but I'm in the market and have been doing my research.

At the end of the day does it even matter? If someone pays X and doesn't shave, and someone else pays Y and does shave, the only real judge of how much the traffic is worth is who is cutting a check with more zeros before the decimal place for the same amount of traffic in the same period of time.
