i agree.. but of course prisons are for more than just keeping people from being on the 'loose'.. its also about punishment.
But IMO , she should just be fined heavily. have all her money taken away, i dont believe a 62 year old woman should be put behind federal bars unless its a very serious crime. Obviously she was greedy.. but people 'hate' her for more than just her greed.. a lot of the hatred stems from jealously imo.Comment

You're right about her name getting her off easy, as I'm sure is the case. I just don't think people should get hard time for white-collar crime. Doesn't seem right to give someone a punishment that's meant to protect society from those inflicting physical pain on other people, when they're only manipulating numbers. While I do agree with you, she did break the law, and when an individual unloads a large amount of stock in a company it hurts the smaller shareholders by driving the price down. I doubt she'll serve any jail time at all, but she should have to at least pay back all of her gains from the sale of the stock. But, she won't have to do that either, some of the most notorious pump & dump artists only have to pay back a fraction of what they make. Sad but true.Originally posted by xenigo
