We JUST got in (3:18 am PST)

Well, here is the basic skinny of it all:

Our car...totaled
my chin...most likely fractured (the VA did not have the proper x-ray equipment for a mandible, I have to go elsewhere in the morning.)
my front 4 bottom teeth...I have to go to the dentist tomorrow and see if they can keep them in my head.
My body...hurting like it has never hurt before.
My David...holding together far better than I!

Thank you to everyone who has sent well-wishes and financial help. EVERY penny will be repayed to every person. We just need to see how much my dental bill is going to be and such, then go through my finances.

The officer said the estimated speed of the vehicle that hit us at the moment of impact was approx 35 mph. Everyone who has seen both of us is amazed that our injuries were so minor. We are very lucky!

I am about to get more pain killers in me, I will give more information in the morning!

Take it easy and don't skimp on proper medical care. Since you were rear-ended the other party is at fault and their insurance has to pay for it all.

In April of 1992, I was rear-ended by a 16 year old kid going at least 35 mph while I waited to turn left into my kids' daycare. My injuries were minor as were the other driver's. My youngest son, then 4 years old, was in a child booster seat behind my driver's seat. The impact caused the bolts on my bucket seat to shear off. My seat went backwards as my son's body shifted forward (even in the booster seat).

His lower jaw was broken complete in two. After surgery that could have possibly led to permanent facial nerve damage, they wired his jaw shut for 6 weeks. He ended up losing a permanent tooth bud and sometimes suffers jaw pain that might be TMJ.

One of the worst Monday morning's of my life.

Glad your injuries were not more serious then that Kayla. 35 MPH at impact is pretty hard.

The paramedics were a JOKE! They looked at us, asked how we felt (we were still in shock and said fine) then left

I got ran over by a truck at midnight, and at 9am, even though I was in alot of pain and drugged up, I had an attorney on the phone, who took the case immediatley.
