Get a high-deductible MSA/HSA plan. (Blue Cross)
Tax savings!!!
Dont let over 63 days pass without having insurance or they dont have to accept your pre-existing conditions.
Also, if you are only out of work temporarily, you can puchase temporary health insurance. (Fortis / Celtic / John Alden)

I could not imagine living without health insurance like we have in Canada. Some people don't know though that our health insurance does not cover drugs, perscription eyeglasses or dental visits. Many employers like ours provide that to us for free and that is an amazing feeling. No matter what happens, you are covered.Originally posted by mailman

if you 19, call your local blue cross office.
It should cost over 110 bucks a month for health insurance. You probably wont be able to get individual dental, but you probable dont need it right now.
People in Canada are lucky because of socialized medicine, but I've always heard in most cases, they will send you home the same day you have the heart attack.
Who knows which is better, to many people in the usa cant afford the insurance anyway.Comment
