Do any of you use a pressure sensitive drawing pad? If so, what are you using and is it reliable and accurate? I am thinking of getting one but if they suck then I will keep on trucking like I have when it comes to illustrations and such. Thanks in advance...

The only choice
I don't have one but keep telling myself to just go ahead and buy it. The 9x12 is only 500 bucks but I want the big boy.

I wish they had like a "try it before you buy it" program lol.Originally posted by enter »

Wacom.
Works great!
Of course there are some features that I would like to see on it, but other than those, it's the most precise, and sensitive pad on the market.

I've got the little Graphire 3. Pretty much rocks. I imagine the Intuous would be better but I had a budget to stick with.
Personally, there's no way I can draw on it and create something. That's sort of what I had in my head when I bought it but alas - if you can't draw something on a piece of paper, you can't do it on a Wacom either.
That said, for photo retouching and highlighting designs it kicks ass. Take your whole PS design, add a layer on top of 50% gray set as overlay, then start dodging and burning that layer with the pressure sensative brush and you'll fall in love real quick.Comment

Sounds like it may be a cool prize to award for a contest then eh? Contest starters take note...Originally posted by tootie
I love my Wacom Graphire 3. It works much better if you change the settings in the control panel. You can change the tracking and pen tip feel to match your drawing style. I too would like to get an Intuos, but they are way too expensive for me right now.Comment

Agreed that at first it seems complicated, but then you forget the damn pen doesn't work like a real pen when the phone rings and you have to write down stuff.Originally posted by onno
I use a wacom and it's really good, at the begining seems complicate to use it, but once you get the feeling it's nice.
model... well, depends on the money you have to spend on it.
graphire is good for the begining
