    one thing I dislike about concerts

    and I love almost everything else. Is the encore ritual. I also hate people that haven't figured out that it isn't over until the lights go back on and then have to run back to their seats/position when the band 'suddenly' comes back on.

    Thank you, just venting a bit of last night's frustration.

          I hate that people think they need to sing to every fucking song...I paid to listen to the band sing not a bunch of morons in the crowd.

                  I once walked out of a shakespeare play once.. I thought it had finished but had no idea it was only the intermission.. but glad I did, 2 hours of an amatuer shakespeare production was more than I could bear!

                      lol that is so true. I have worked many a concert and the look of shock on peoples faces when they realize there is an encore is priceless.

                      and is it really an encore if its part of the show?

                          well, I kind of think that if a live band doesn't move you enoough to sing then they suck.

                              you can always tell if the band is coming back on for their fake encore, by if the amps are still on.

                              They'll finish their song, then place their guitars down and walk off, you'll sometimes see roadies run out and put some fresh water on the amps and such. Load of shit it is.


                              And what I really hate is when these poser bands do their guitar smashing shit they're sure to have switched their nice guitar with some thrift store piece of crap for the deed.

                                  I used to go to Man... or Astro-man? shows a lot... they never do encores... it was funny to see a bunch of people still standing around as I ran for position at the bar.

                                      yeah I have seen this band three times on this tour ( 6 in total ) and I was able to tell my friend exactly how many encore songs they would do.

                                      I've learned that the second encore is the real encore..sometimes they do it, sometimes they don't.

                                          yeah during the last song of the first encore I could see a roadie put a new gutair down by the drums and I just wanted to say 'duh' to everyone that started to put their coats on. I love this band enough to see them 6 times but I'm not clapping to get you out when I know you are already planning to do it.
