Perhaps. But even those who aren't addicted cause accidents, kill others (DUI), cause conflict at home, etc when they have the odd night out drinking. I drink, but I know the danger of alcohol and what it does to our socieites is badly understated. Unlike smoking, no appropriate measures have been taken to really educate people about drinking, at least not in Australia.
