                                            Porn Profit/Guerilla Traffic are currently and have been using our feeds since shortly after we launched them. They have an excellent history with my organization and I plan to do quite a great deal of business with them in the future. I know that they buy our content as well as a lot of content from other providers, and they make their own content as well. They are good people, regardless of what this thread argues.

                                                Interesting - so Mike you're saying that they are good people despite other content providers coming into this thread and saying that GT has taken their content and used it without first buying it?

                                                        Look, I'm usually the first guy to get livid when I see someone stealing my content. But I usually am pretty civil about it if the parties involved have a good reputation.

                                                        The problem is that this company is MASSIVE - it's probably one of the biggest 10 in the industry. They have content they own that they have never seen and they have at least one full time guy that does nothing but manage their members areas. I don't know exactly how many they employ but it's easily over 50 full time. When they say they have spent over one million dollars in content, they're serious.

                                                        When you get to be that size, things happen. You get designers who think they're artists and get things that they don't own. And you are controlling a couple million clicks a day with a couple hundred paysites and 30,000 traffic sources, it's almost impossible to manage. I'm not making excuses for them, I'm just saying that they are good people and I don't think they intended to rip anyone's content. They have enough of their own.

                                                                                                                            Unlike many of you who seems quite happy to show your face here, even if it does not concern you, you'll notice that maybe they have 8 to 5 jobs and when they are done working, they go home to spend time with their famillies until the next business day.

                                                                                                                            Their organisation is not a 1 man show. They have a bunch of different full time staff handling different things for hosting, WM support, designers, etc.

                                                                                                                                    I have always known shit gets blown a little out of proportion on this board having worked for the company who owns it for a year but after reading this thread I now realize just how fucking stupid it can get.

                                                                                                                                    I worked for Porn Profit for 3 years and I knew most of the people on staff. This company spends more money just managing their content than most of the companies on this board spend in total for the actual content they use on their sites/galleries. Not sure where the mistake was made but I am willing to put my reputation on the line when I say this HAD to be a mistake. If it was in fact the designer explaination it's a fairly easy concept to understand. Sometimes designers can be over-critical of the content they have to work with and in this situation many times they are simply overwhelmed by the amount of pics they have to sift through to find what they feel is "quality". It makes sense then that a designer might take it upon theirself to just go find a gallery of images already made up, download it, crop the watermarks, and redesign the layout. Would certainly save alot of time over the alternative which is sifting through gig after gig of pictures they don't feel make a good gallery. Not saying that this is the case here but for those insisting they don't understand why a designer would "scour the ineternet for hours" to find pics for a gallery obviously hasn't seen how many liscened pics they would have to scour through on the GT content server. Again, I have no idea what the particular case is here but I can tell you that I just lost respect for alot of people on this board for pointing fingers when they obviously have no idea what they're talking about. Why would a company knowingly steal content when they have millions of dollars invested in legal content and then go out of their way to show people galleries of those stolen pics? If people don't see how this was obviously a mistake on the part of Guerilla Traffic then they are seriously lacking basic common sense.

If they meant to actually steal content, then they did wrong and I hope they pay, but in a large organization mistakes do happen. I see content theft each and every day of my life, there are more thieves then honest people in the business, and someone with a content budget like they have don't quite fit the profile of your typical thief.

To build such a large company they gotta have some brains... investing tooooons of cash in content for the members but stealing content for the affiliates, well, it just doesn't seem very likely.

                                                                                                                                                                However I do think they have a bunch of unmonitored shitty employees and I think their excuses are stupid as fuck.

                                                                                                                                                                Even if they got fucked by some designer it's their responsibility to make sure his work is legit. There is serveral instances here with stolen content being used in their tours. Obviously they have no clue what certain parts of their team is up to... even if it's a big misstake it's still a shitty operation if these things can happend over and over and over again.

I didn't see one reply from PIBCash people when they were 'outted' ... though I know that the PornProfit / GuerillaTraffic crew are quite widespread on all of the boards. Maybe they thought they could cover it up.

                                                                                                                                                                                    I'm not taking any sides here either, just looking where the evidence points regarding the posts from people who say they own the content and such and posted what they saw going on. Perhaps they lying and have something against you guys but the benefit of the doubt is that they aren't.

                                                                                                                                                                                                    What is the explanation for replacing unlicensed content with even more unlicensed content? This is a pretty bad smoking gun of a pattern of unethical conduct.

                                                                                                                                                                                                    One poster previously suggested that they had clocked out for the night and gone home. I'm sorry but thats what you do when its business as usual, not when your program is having its credibility slammed on the industry's largest webmaster board. I wager that the critical folks from GT are here lurking, they arent watching Tuesday nite tv with the wife and kids.

                                                                                                                                                                                                    If the senior management of this company is not part of this affair, they ought to terminate the staff that were involved, compensate those whose content was used improperly, put new projects on hold and instead work on organizing their content and auditing their sites and lastly have some staffing meetings to discuss what has happened, why it was wrong and why it should never happen again.
