dont even try to group webmasters to putting less thumbs coz one or two of them will fuck the rules and get listings. welcome to the land of the free.

Here's your problem. Too many webmasters now work in this currently non expanding industry.

Whatever you make that can work it's matter of days to be copied by assholes and duplicated till sickness degree. At the end it doesn't work for anyone and this is nearly independent your traffic source.

but the system is much harder to change. the current system is based on competition among the TGPs, plus an evolution of the original TGP concept.

If for example, you could wave the wand and tommorow every TGP lists only 5 pic galleries....how long would it last...what would happen to the guy that starts to list 8 pic galleries...what could you do to him? bring in the TGP shop steward?

This is outcome of involved people with lack of business sense. Their only reaction to bad results is the increase of free material across their sites.

I am not involved so much in the TGP game but here is a thought...
i don't know what are your current rules when it comes to number of pics, but I assume it's 15+.
I know you would not move to tgp2 as any other big tgp owner, since you have too much to lose.
But do you think - if you start listing galleries contining min. 10, max. 15 pics, you will lose any surfers?
Perhaps they won't even notice this, as long as the galleries remain high quality.
But in that case you can expect slightyly better revenue from you traffic, so you can charge slightly more for advertising...

Ok, but here's another thought...why do some TGP owners have guidelines "not to agressive advertising"? I am obviously not talking about pics on html, dialers, pop ups etc... but why cannot a gallery contain f.e 15 pics but also 5-6 text links or banners to the sponsor and lots of advertising text.
The surfer visits your TGP every day ( or almost every day ) so he already knows that on every gallery he gets about 15 free pics by clicking on the thumbnails, which lead to the bigger pics. This woulnd't change, but hthere would be simply more advertising on a gallery. When you go to the shop and they give you a free coffee then when you are drinking it, they encourage you to buy it and you don't forget that is it advertising.
Nowadays, a huge percent of TGP surfers isn't even aware of the fact that tgp galleries are advertising. They don't think about it they just click on the pics but have no idea why this site has so much free galeries every day ( what's the purpose ) - all they notice are the free pics.

TGP's with slogans like "no more spending money for porn" aren't helpful for the biz. every surfer they convince that he should never pay for porn is a lost consumer. IMO TGP galleries should be perceived as "samples", not only by the webmasters, but also by the surfers.

i resisted going to 15+, like the other sites, but it doesnt matter, because, no one is going to make special galleries for one site now. If the majority want 15+ pics, then the submitters make the gallery that way. They arent going to say, "this gallery is for shemp, lets drop 3 pics"

again, i dont know why so many people find this so difficult. TGPs are not just about getting signups to submitted galleries. They sell advertising, they sell traffic, they use click throughs, pay per views etc, they use the galleries to draw in great amounts of surfers, so the TGPs make money. A lot of people benefit when TGPs make money, the hosts, the designers, the content suppliers and also the gallery submitter, as he will get some of that traffic to his gallery. This is the 7th year of full bore TGPing,
it has evolved a little and some new stategies have been tried.
The premise remains the same, keep those surfers coming back.

The Hun has the lots of free porn. I haves seen galleries with 30 pics over there. And he still has good traffic so I hear.

So maybe quality TGP's with less blind links. Don't jerk the surfer and they build trust and sign up to stuff.

I don't know when there was the movement to 15+ pics but I have not seen any change in the year plus I have been around.
