    How do I do this?

    How the hell do I make an image of a CD? I have a game.... the Sims, and I don't want to use the CD.... I was told I can make an image of the cd and it will run without it. I hate using my original disks, don't much like scratching them....... and I want my kids to be able to play it. BUT if they touch my disks, I go nuts and I don't want to go get the damn thing everytime they are done with it. lol

          not sure. I always thought some CD's wouldn't allow that. Too easy to bootleg. I could be way wrong, though.

              You have to make what's called an ISO most cd ripping proframs like NERO do it!

                      Why not just copy the CD?

                      From what I understand, you're trying to get the game to run without the CD, right? You basically have to find a program that'll trick the game into thinking your hard drive is actually a CD-ROM drive.

                          And not so much for a personal backup, but more so my kids (one being 6) don't wreck my damn disks..... I hate that and they fucked a couple of them up. So anytime I get a disk, I always make a working copy and put the originals AWAY!!

                          ME bootleg? HAHAHAHAHAHA..... I don't have the damn brains or the balls. lol

                              do a search for virtual drive, it usually creates a virtual disk drive on your computer that you can make a copy of a disk and use that drive as the place the game runs from instead of a disk.

                                  I tried that, this disk won't allow it. I have been able to do it with every single disk so they have their own copy and can scratch to their hearts content, but this one won't have it.

                                      Ok, then like I said, you'll have to find a virtual drive program. Simply creating an image with something like Nero won't work.

                                                  And I tried that thing you sent to me, Piksal, but I guess I am an idiot....... I don't get it. I downloaded it, copied it to my directory and it did nothing at all......... just came up with a little blank error box, that's all.
