Nice to see a smart guy make supposedly smart guys look stupid.
The problem with most political interview programs is they rely on the politicians appearing more than audiences watching. Be too tough on the guests, not let them spew out their propoganda and they will not appear.
The interviewer needs to be of such a stature thet politicians dare not refuse the invertation. Unfortunately in the US the media, being owned by large corperations, controls what you see and who you see and most of the media has a vested interest in who gets elected.
In the UK we have the BBC, they are funded by the public and are more independant of the goverment. We use to have an political interviewer, Robin Day who when he retired was replaced by Jeremy Paxman. Both were clearly more intelligent than most of the politicians and very often more clued up than them on the subject.
They ask pointed questions and did not take waffle for an answer, they sometimes had politicians get up and walk out on them rather than stay and be grilled. They were both big enough for no politician to refuse an interview.
