I don't know shit from clay when it comes to WTF is going on between these 2, but have followed the soap opera here on countless threads for the past couple of days....
IF I was in publicity (which I was), this would be how I would spin on it..
1. Create a massive drama between 2 well known friends to create tension and a certain hype to get people interested.
2. Drag hype out as far as possible, involving as many people as possible and as publicly as possible.
3. Make dramatic threats, taking the public debate from words to apparent action - take the fight to a new level of personal attack.
4. Bring dispute to an ultimate crescendo, promising much nastiness and bitterness - divide support amongst the "followers" ensuring that EVERYONE exposed to it has an opinion about good or bad or right or wrong or one persons side or the other's.
5. Kiss and make up, making huge public announcements about same and at the same time annoucing new levels of co-operation and goodwill and launch huge new project from which all will benefit of the newly re-kindled sense of friendship and good will.
6. Take money to bank as captive audience rejoices in the end of the saga and rushes to support new friendship.
7. Share cold cocktails serverd by naked waitresses on beach in Maui, watch sunset and share laughs at gullability of human audiences.
Anyone see "Wag The Dog" or "Primary Colors"... same shit different perspective.
It is ever so true that their is NO such thing a bad publicity.
Now I DO NOT claim that this is what will happen, only time will tell, but fuck, if I was Amp or Aaron, that may be reason enough for them to fix whatever needs fixing.
