The prosecution claims the defendant approached the car in which the victim sat, opened his door with his knife at the ready, and stabbed him in the ensuing altercation.
The defense claims he approached the car in which the victim sat to ask if they needed help or directions, the people in the car jumped out, beat and kicked him to the ground, when he managed to repeatedly stab the victim in the chest.
There were a lot of other details, but ultimately the jury unanimously disbelieved the defense claims, and believed the prosecution claims.
