A controlled loss of traction essentially. Racers drift their car around a sharp turn or curve, ass end kicks out, front wheels point slightly away from the direction of the curve/turn, accelaration at the apex, and rocket straight out back on track.Originally posted by beemk

Thanks. my business partner and his brother are big drifting fans and into the whole import scene. They drift race on the weekends at drift atlanta in a 240 and a supra they built for the sport.Originally posted by Jeff aka NIGHTfall

yeah, its becomming huge down here, there is a drift meet at least once a month in miami, i been to a few of them, alot of fun, i even got to ride along in a jdm s13 silvia while the guy was drifting... kinda fun being a passanger yet still sitting where i usally sit to drive. lol
also alot of fun going around a turn sideways at 70mph

Nice. we actually talked about opening a drift track here in north georgia a few times. Fee based time slots for racers to practice and test their skills. Ticket sales and concessions for spectators. yeah its a fun track to drift, just wish it was a lil bit wider... few people lost their s13 s14 's do to some hits.
lets just say, to make that full turn in a complete drift, you have to be going pretty fast... and i dont think at those speeds the pavment is as wide as it should be.
but then again the track wasnt built based on the sport of drifting
