Any webmaster living in Bangkok?

Been thinking for a long time to get an office and work from there...

Been on vacation several times in Bangkok, but only lived on hotels and never looked into what an appartement or office costs to rent.

Would like to be located in the Silom or Siam area. And Im only looking for a small place.

Anyone? If so, what prices is it? Also what internet connections is available there nowdays? On the hotels I've been at (Oriental, Dusit Thani, ShangriLa etc they got nice connections). Whats the prices for this?

You've stayed at some nice hotels. I cheaped out at the guesthouses and low-budget rooms near Sukhumvit. Try doing a search for kmanrox as he is living there.

just come visit and look around, you'll find something... like i always say, the prices of where you live depend on your standard of living. Yes, one can live in Bangkok on $500 a month budget... but you will be far away from everything, eating shitty food, not buying whores, not having too much fun unless you're a streetbum in the usa.... if you want to have the same swanky living conditions that u have in the USA, you're going to pay almost as much as in the USA.... I live in a huge apartment in the nice part of town... it costs me as much as a medium to large apartment in L.A.... if you want to buy knockoff Nikes and Armani / Gucci, you will pay a fraction of the price.... I shop at the legit mall and it cost me the same as it does in NYC... Restaurants cost a little less, even the 5 stars.. the movies, you can get a VIP seat in a La-Z-Boy with a waiter for $25 for 2 people... or go to a USA style regular theater for $4 per couple... utilities and shit and about 40% less than the usa... all your extraneous foods and beer and shit are about 40% less than the usa, as are taxis as you know...

best of all, the whores are a maximum of $50-75 per 24 hours... 'Short Times' will set ya back $25... (90 minutes of whatever ya want)....

Not true mate. When Thai police deal with farongs, it's your ASS. We shoot there all the time and have a system to do it, but if a non Thai gets caught doing anything in porn, you can count on serious problems. And they DONT have to have evidence to convict you there.

Though I would say that your going to pay more around Sukhumvit because that's where everyone wants to be. Find something not too far away next to the sky train so you can get anywhere fast, and far enough from Nana, Soi Cowboy and Patpong to not drive you mad 6 months down the road when your tired of fucking all the girls.

I would think long and hard about living in Bangkok. A vacation there and living there are two separate monsters. One can get swept up in the madness easily there. But if you can control yourself, I guess it's not so bad, but you will pay $ for a nice life.

Personally, I would head to Phuket if I ever moved there full time. It has everything you need, it's cheaper, plus it's on a beach and near some breathtaking islands... not to mention you can scuba, boat, rock climb, and lay on a beach when your not working. Nothing beats a beach on your time off... nothing.
