Australian Banks

I needs me a new bank !

Suncorp is changing their foreign check charge from $5 to $10 per check, and adding a 2% foreign currency transaction charge! Thats gonna cost me thousands a year extra, so I really need a new bank.

Who are you other Aussies banking with and whats their deals? Do any have a single charge for a multiple number of checks? I am so damn sick of Aussie banks ... but at least they dont give a shit where the money comes from

colonial state bank used to charge me 10$ for as many checks as i had. they don't exist anymore though.

Yeah I was going to have a look at them. Do they charge to recieve wires aswell ? I need one that doesn't have a hefty currency conversion charge, and doesn't charge me to recieve a wire.

yeah. sometimes at suncorp if i get one of the nicer few they dont say anything but they waive the charge coz im regular customer. but theres no fucking way in hell im paying 10 bucks a cheque and 2% extra for all paypal transactions now.

I seriously hate the Commonwealth Bank. Lined up for 5 mins and finally got to the teller and she looked at the clock, noticed it was 2 mins till 4, and told me I would have to come back tomorrow because they were closing in 2 mins.

Only would have taken me 30secs to do the payment, but no ... she was determined to stop serving at 2 mins before 4pm. Fuck i hate banks

easy enough to deposit into a credit account in that case. They still make me wait 28 days. maybe i'm not a big enough fish.. ( been with them 2 years now. state bank used to be cleared when i walked out the door.

I use Westpac and like the others have said it's $10 for a pack of 4. The other reason I switched to Westpac was that I can do online transfers to suppliers anywhere in the World.

National Australia Bank wanted to charge me $160 for someone to install special software on my computer to do international online payments

Thats sounds about right. I bet the $160 was for the "Install guy" to come in, put an install cd in your computer, run it, then leave!

Some WESTPAC banks limit it to 4 checks others will do as many as you have. I've gone in with 10 and it cost me $10.

Money was in instantly too. Always has been. Introduce yourself to a manager at a branch and explain your situation.

It's usually up to the branch manager. some are cool others are cocksuckers.

The tellers at my westpac branch are fucked up.

I tell them its 10$ for 4 checks, but they seem to have forgotten every time and have to spend half an hour asking around.
