    Do you pay for quality or do you skimp?

    I foresee a change in the industry coming... it's happening.

    The people with the money are wanting to pay more now, for better designs, for more stable hosting, for better programming, for better content, for better traffic trades, for better advertising.

    The people without the money are still paying for the cheap ass hosting, the $2 pic sets and over seas programming.

    I think the industry will divide in to 2 sections... sure, it already sort of is that way, but I think it'll become even greater as the people with money start to realize that getting the cheapest deals means getting the cheapest quality.

      me personally, not just saying this cuz i work for oxeo, but I've ALWAYS been the type to not be cheap, what good is b/w at .15 a gig if the server is down more then it's up? I look for quality, my business DEPENDS on it, if I half ass everything I'll never make a dime.

      I'll pay whatever little extra I have to to ensure my sites are available at ALL times, my sites are no good to me if theyre 404'ed

          I don't think I skimp, but I do know how to negotiate a good deal so that it is a win-win situation.

          I will admit we tried to save some money with the original probramming of ContentShopper - and as you know, that did not work out too well.

          So you have to be careful.

              Yeah, you're not the first to have been bitten in the ass going that route either. I've been hearing that story a lot lately.

              Quality versus price... there's a certain point where you sacrfice one for the other.

                  Shrewd business sense isn't all about saving money. It's also about knowing when to spend good money on good products to get a good return.

                      I shop around for the best price for what I need, and negotiate if I can, but bad experiences in the past have taught me that it's well worth it to pay for quality, and you can't be afraid to spend money to make more money.
