1 meter = one ten-millionth of the span from the north pole to the equator.

Milli, centi, deci, kilo etc are all prefixes.

Milli = 1/1000
Centi = 1/100
Deci 1/10
Kilo = 1000

I'm 27 and every one of my math books up until atleast high school had a unit on the metric system because the US was going to go over to it. I hated the lessons because it never happened but then I moved to the UK just as they were changing over to the metric system and boy am I glad I paid attention or doing my grocery shopping would be a bitch.

When you have over 300 individual layered files that are all different sizes then it's a bitch. I had to open each individual file and check the bleeds and size, then convert to inches and adjust the sizes proportionatly so the images don't look squashed or squeezed. I went to DOD (Department of Defense) schools my entire life and I've never once studied the metric system. We did some simple shit like how many litres go into a gallon and so forth but nothing concerning millimeters.
