BUT...
As far as supermarkets go - most supermarkets stock 95% processed poison one way another. Genetically manipulated vegetables, inhumanely mass produced meat that is loaded down with hormones, antibiotics and who knows what else.
Do you really think eating garbage from supermarkets is better for you, animals, or the environment than sitting out in a cabin in the middle of the forest and living off the land?
And I'm pretty sure if they had the choice, your primitive ancestors would have selected a rifle over a sharp stick.
But then again, maybe your ancestors weren't that bright
