Traffic question

Anybody know the answer to this one?

Of several sites, I have a tgp that was loosing traffic daily and it sank to an all time low of 100 hits a day.

My script is set to post automatically, and I found that people were auto submitting pages and then selling or redirecting their page to anything but a gallery.

The post is still on auto, but I used an htaccess file to require posts to come from an html page on my site, thereby blocking auto submitters.

My traffic grew dramatically since that day, and is now over 5000 raw clicks a day to that tgp - an all time high .

Does anybody think that blocking auto submitters had anything to do with my traffic increase

Yes. Surfers getting dialers, autoinstalled toolbar and other shit, leaves your site after the first click going to shit. Your bookmarks allso leaves you, then this happens.

The only way, is to find blacklist lists and add them into your tgp script.
I would not block autosubmiters, becouse i want to have as many galleries to choise from as possible.

Approve the first X amount a day you need and delete the rest.

Begin doing partner submits.

Sorry, but it's true. (actually this month it average out to be 2877 a day so far)

Most of those are spam submissions. I'm not sure why I get so many. I think it's because my site until recently was an easy mark for spam because the submission process had no real security.

63314 /tgpost/post.cgi

This is from my stats on that site. As you can see, I have had 63314 actual submits so far this month. The only way to get to the post.cgi is through the submit process.

I wish I was just smoking crack, then I could fix the problem very easily.

I think you have a handle on it, like was said earlier, piss the surfers off by not monitoring your gallery links and they will go away. We have to scan our TGP galleries multiple time per day to keep the cheaters out.

On another note, it's interesting that your nick is Big Bad John and you're from Tacoma... My nick is Big John and I'm from Tacoma also. Must be something in the air other than Tacoma Aroma for our nicks to be that close
