                                          1280 is a waste of bandwidth. You can scale it down to 640x360 and drop the bitrate down to 3M/sec... maybe even 2M/sec@30fps, and still get pretty much the same quality, and a 5min video will be right at around 100Mb.

                                                              Yeah, saw it now, definitely needs to be de-interlaced. I don't know if that will help with compression. I also think you could probably getting away with compressing further without much noticeable difference, but that's just MHO.

                                                                              you can downcovert but not upconvert so easily. dv is what it is.
