drive enclosure
As far as im concerned this is the best drive enclosure on the market - never had a problem with it. you may be able to get one in order to pull some info off the pc's drive
it would hook up to anything with a usb slot on it, and it works damn goodLast edited by Explicit; 10-08-2004, 04:08 AM.Comment

It just wont boot. The harddrives work, i can hear them but when i turn on the puter nothing happens.Originally posted by Explicit
what exactly are your PC's symptoms? Also, what are the specs (ie. motherboard type, processor type, computer manufacture ect..)
Amd athlon. I dont know shit about types and motherboards etc.Comment

even with a bad harddrive, dos information should still come on the screen.Last edited by Explicit; 10-08-2004, 04:12 AM.Comment

I was thinking much the same. Sounding more like M.Board or CPU type problem than the HDOriginally posted by Explicit

more than likely. You can get a cheaper version of the drive enclosure i mentioned earlier (only 30$), and if you need info off that drive i would say its your best bet. its worthwhile to have anyway, comes in handy.Originally posted by Tipsy

ouch, I had the same problem with my hard disk 2 month ago. It was like the disk was running in a loop.Originally posted by Battuss

I hope you have copy of your disk.Comment

Have to agree. Invaluable things especially if upgrading to a bigger drive. I've been tempted to use one for an additional drive for data but keep wondering how long it'll last switched on all day every day. I suppose it should be OK in theory.Originally posted by Explicit

combined with a good seagate drive, you will not be dissapointed. Had one for months and the only issue i had was with a shitty drive that had already failed and crashed once. theres a shitload of other enclosures out there, but many of them have errors due to incompatable USB chipsets, so be wary if you decide on an alternative.Originally posted by Tipsy

more than likely what it is - i fried one just the other day actually. fan went out on the cpu and it burned up, but i still got dos info on screenOriginally posted by demheels
I'm leaning towards a cpu problem. Cpu fans still working? AMD's do not shut down when they get too hot like Pentiums.Comment

well if the drives are working, there could be a video card problem too, lol. i should hope you would know how to reduce that out of the equasion though.Originally posted by Battuss
