my host says unlimited b/w and i beleive them, if they decide to delete me for using too much b/w i will be more than happy to refund, but i can't see them deleting me.

what chowda said...there is NO SUCH THING as unlimited bandwidth, simply because it's physically not even possible (yeah sure, in a quantum physical way it would be).
i'd personally recommend anyone to stay away from hosts that offer unlimited diskspace/bandwidth

from a serious point of view, you can't offer anything at all. just imagine someone takes your offer and hosts a tgp/mgp with lot's of traffic with you. couple o days later your host shuts your account down. now what about the guys that hostet with you ? his site is down, he can't send traffic to trades and thereofr his site drops from 100k uniques to 20k uniques....now what ?

He said yes that I can host 4 x 16 MB movies for the hun... looks like I can throw away my dedicated server and save $517.50

It's really simple to do unlimited transfer. You don't limit the amount of transfer, you limit the rate the network will allow.

It's just another way of selling traffic. Now, the question is what rate can the server sustain.

And ooh ya. 10GB is not a measure of bandwidth, or rate but a measure of transfer. Not unless your selling 8 OC192 connections into one machine.

Bandwidth is a measurement of rate of transfer, when you see 10GB, etc, thats measurement of data transfer, usually at a fixed or capped rate.

Trust it's not paranoia. Rather a good grasp of the definition mixed with experience and logic. Speaking of logic . . . if $2.50 is all you need why the fuck would you bother?? Geez that's really gonna pay some bills.

You would do well to read the Terms of Service that govern your plan and the definition of UNLIMITED BANDWIDTH. Oh and don't skip the part in their TOS about abusing server resources and/or what constitutes the same.
