what is the ideal number of photos for a paysite gallery? I have heard as many as 100 and as little as 16!! What is the best number per page. I was thinking 30-40, is this ok?

It really depends, but if you have exclusive content you can go with a lower number per set (anyways never under 30)Comment

In my opinion
it isn't the number of pix per set, it is the number and variety of the sets. As long as you do not have a SILLY amount of pix per set, you know like 10. 
Also bugs me when people divide ONE shoot into multiple updates.

I would think at least 30-40 in a gallery.
There are some cases where you can have smaller galleries such as a peeing set or something extreme.
