7 of the ones there were nominated by republican presidents. 4 by Reagan, 2 by Bush SR and one by Ford. Arguably all "conservative" presidents.
Also note the president NOMINATES someone for the office. The United States Senate must vote to approve the nomination. Yet another reason to get involved in your local politics
