    Whats The First Thing You Do When You Turn Your PC On?

    I tend to check my email first, then viit our boards and then play a game of internet backgammon.

    What are the first things the rest of you do when you turn your pc on?

                      I usually take it out of the box, turn it on, and then use it. This only happens once, it doesnt get turned off after this.

                                      you mean you guys actually turn your computers off? mine stays on.. ill reboot it once every week or two, just because.

                                                                              my computer is on 24/7 - i only turn the monitor off manually when not using it

                                                                              so turn monitor on... open outlook, deal w/ anyone that's im'd me when i was away... reply to email and then open ie and check my stats for adsense and a few other affiliate programs, then off to some forums and then end w/ the forum i run - and check ebay auctions in between if im watching / bidding on something

Messenger is a family "intercom". I post or browse during commercials. Sometimes if I wake up in the middle of the night I'll click to see what's going on at the board. The computer is plugged into my surround system so I'm apt to listen to streams any time of the day/night. I'm often online for a half-hour or more in the morning before I ever get out of bed. I'm just a couple blocks from a main substation so my DSL usually rocks 24/7, I love it

                                                                                                                      I reboot if a program is giving me problems or I'm running cache sweeper. I average about 2 1/2 days.
